Sad: Young Girl Commits Suicide By Drinking Sniper After Failing Jamb, Drops Note.

A prospective university student simply identified as Zainab has committed suicide in the Northern part of the country because she flunked her Jamb exam.

Zainab, who was said to be displeased and embittered with the low score she garnered in the ongoing United Tertiary Matriculation Examination took a bottle of sniper and ended her life.

Recall that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday, released the result of 312,157 candidates that sat for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) last Saturday.

Zainab, an ambitious young girl was among the first batch who took part in the computer-based exam. She however, felt disoriented after seeing her Jamb result thus leading her to commit the dastardly act.

This reporter gathered that Zainab's sister was the person who shared the shocking WhatsApp's text Zainab sent to her online before committing suicide.

According to sources, Zainab reportedly was asked to send food to her pregnant aunt in the hospital when she learnt of the release of the Jamb's result. She immediately checked hers her phone and felt despondent subsequently, not just because that was the second time she was failing Jamb but because she really worked hard for the exam.

Unfortunately, before anyone anyone could reach her, Zainab had already taken sniper and given up the ghost. Zainab was a talented aspiring footballer who could have become the next biggest star in the world of soccer but she was too lily-livered to bite the bullet of failure

Her family is reportedly broke by her impulsive decision and is yet to release a public statement as regards to that.

More Details Later

For prospective university student out there: Please, suicide should not be an option. Do not end your life because of exam failure. Your life is worthy much more than that. You can definitely scale through the exam tomorrow. Just be plucky and pertinacious. There is much more to life than flunking an exam. Just know your worth.

To parents out there: Please, I beg you in the name of whatever you deify, please, let these kids be. Stop putting them through unnecessary pressure. Stop the comparisons and hurling of invectives. Just encourage them. Every child is special. I know you want the best for them but please remember they are young, naive and impressionable. Do not compel them to study courses they detest. Allow them choose those they have absolute advantage over others. Allow them breathe. Stop choking them. They will still make you proud. It is just a process.

Zainab, may your soul rest in peace, Amen!

Deeper Life Pastor Commits Suicide in Ogun State

A Deeper Life Bible Church pastor, Mr. Tunde, has reportedly committed suicide at the Mowe area of Ogun State after being defrauded of N600,000.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, threw the whole Atala community into confusion.

According to the eyewitness, pastor Tunde started a Thrift Contribution business two years ago, after he was sacked from his former company.

On the fateful day of the incident, the deceased sent his wife on errand, but before she returned, Tunde had emptied a bottle of Sniper into his mouth. The wife returned to meet him writhing in pain.

The wife later told people that she returned to find Tunde writhing on the ground. She raised the alarm, alerting other members of the community.

Tunde was rushed to a private hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

New Telegraph learnt that after Tunde was confirmed dead, his wife wept uncontrollable. Some residents described the pastor as an easy going person in the community.

One of the neighbours, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he was in his apartment on the fateful day, when he heard the cries of Tunde’s wife. He noted that the woman was screaming for help, causing him and other tenants to dash out.

The neighbour added: “I have not heard the woman scream in that manner before. It was unusual. It was when I and other neighbours rushed towards her that we saw the husband on the ground, writhing in pain. We rushed him to the hospital. It was when we got to the hospital that we discovered that he took Sniper.

“The doctor said there was nothing he could do at that particular time. We lost him. The deceased was working in a reputable organisation before he was sacked. In order not to remain idle, he took to thrift collection, and he was doing well. But he was defrauded of his clients’ money. I believe that he took his life because he didn’t want to be put to shame. But killing himself was not the solution. I pray his soul will rest in peace.”

The president of the Portuguese islands has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has not been infected with the coronavirus despite being held in quarantine in his native Madeira.

But report says the Juventus star will remain at home while the fear of infection is still at large, with Italy on lockdown. Ronaldo’s team-mate Daniele Rugani became the first Serie A player to contract the illness with Paulo Dybala also reported to have tested positive – information Juventus have reportedly denied.

The Italian club confirmed 121 players and staff have gone into self-isolation. Ronaldo initially flew home to Madeira to visit his mother Dolores, who suffered a stroke earlier this month.

He is now unable to return to Italy due to strict mobility restrictions across the continent. There were reports in Italy that the former Real Madrid superstar had contracted the coronavirus but these have been confirmed to be false.

President of the Madeira regional government Miguel Albuquerque said: ‘I cannot speak of this issue for data protection reasons, but I want to say that the situation has been properly analysed and it is, at this time, guaranteed that there is no possibility of infection.’

Regional health secretary Pedro Ramos confirmed: ‘Both the athlete and his family are asymptomatic.’

Despite remaining in his homeland, Ronaldo is in daily contact with Juventus medical staff and is training in his personal gym.

All Serie A matches have been suspended until at least April 3, with Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini the second player in the top flight to have been confirmed to have contracted the illness.

There was reportedly no ambulance at the stadium. After Chieme collapsed, it took some minutes before they got a private car to convey him to the hospital where he was confirmed to be dead.@LMCNPFL really needs to do better in enusring the safety of our players.

None of the personnels who attended to Chieme Martins had an idea of how to arrest the situation. They were all clueless.

This is appalling and shouldn't be happening in a Professional league!
