Cristiano Ronaldo used to be bullied by his Manchester United teammate. Ronaldo has always had a lot of self-belief and he has always loved himself and believed he would become the best.
Unfortunately when he first joined Manchester United aged 18, this confidence worked against him. CR7 arrived in a locker room full of Red Devils legends like Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane, Paul scholes e.t.c
Many Young players won’t even dare to make eye contact but this wasn’t a case for Cristiano Ronaldo. Phil Neville said: “He walked with his chest out. He was so confident. His eyes looking straight into yours. We thought: “Bloody hell, this lad…”
Irritated with his attitude the Man United old guards started making fun of him, the other young player dressed discreetly but Cristiano Ronaldo flashy clothes and fashionable haircuts were mocked. Quinton Fortune said: “He dressed far too well for training. He wore tight jeans… We asked him: “Any room down there in that area?”
These comments irritated cr7 so his teammates wound him up even more. They were telling him that he was only there to keep Beckham’s number7 warm while they waited for the spice boys returned. If Cr7 tried to reply he was destroyed by his teammates.
They also tried to make life hard for him during the team’s Rondo’s. They were two groups, the Championship Rondo with the secondary Manchester United players and the Champions league Rondo with the Manchester United Legends.
Cristiano Ronaldo waited months to join the Champions League Rondo. When he finally got there the legends gave him a very hard time. Every time CR7 got out of the circle his teammates gave him terrible passes so that he ended up back in the center and never stop defending.
Ronaldo hated that, if he nutmegged an opponent he was cut down, after 18 months he eventually started getting normal passes and finally he had the veterans respect.
For years Cristiano Ronaldo was a target for his teammates at Manchester United, he was massacred when he dribbled for too long and they made fun of his look and his attitude but all these challenges only made him stronger.
They made him the beast that we know today. Like Ronaldo never doubt yourself even if your different or misunderstood, with talent hard work and patience you can achieve anything you want.
