A 27-year-old man accused of murdering Ejike Eze has expressed his dismay at failing to kill all his neighbors in Ogun State.
A native of Ebonyi, who lives in the Ayegbami area of Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, he has been a professional footballer since moving here. The house he lives in is filled with Yoruba and Igbo people.
Eze was arrested by Ogun State police after he allegedly attacked a neighbor with a knife after accusing him of stealing her phone.
It turned out that Eze and the widow who died at 59 were not in contact but later accused her of stealing her phone.
His reaction to the incident was that he attacked her and killed her with his fists. Two days later, police arrested him at the Ijebu Ode train station as he was about to leave town.
When reporters sought to hear from the suspect at the Eleweran police headquarters, he expressed outrage. He was detained in the special unit of investigating homicide cases for investigation and prosecution.
He accused all his neighbors and their children of being his enemies and was disappointed he had not killed them all. “I am in prison for the murder. I criticized my neighbor who I can't remember her name. We are staying in one house in the Ayegbami area of Ijebu Ode in Ogun State.
“The union has been accused of abducting her. Whenever she sued, the other tenants supported her. They insulted me and shouted at me, ” The Punch reported.
“It was around 5:30 am on Friday and I was sweating profusely. She is accused of kidnapping her. Only then did I decide to tear it down with a stick. I had her beheaded but then the other members of the family sought her, and I followed her. ” He said.
