Funke Akindele In More Trouble After Her Arrest As NCDC Denies Signing The Actress As An Ambassador!

By Victor Isiguzo

Popular actress Funke Akindele (aka Jenifa) has found herself in deep trouble after a video surfaced online of her, her husband JJC Skills, other celebrities like Naira Marley and guests having a house party amidst the Coronavirus 'social distancing' directives.

It's no longer news that the whole world is currently on lockdown in an attempt to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

Companies are closed down, Churches and Mosques gatherings are no longer allowed, weddings have been postponed and even markets are closed down.

So, it came as a surprise when Funke Akindele who is an advocate for social distancing and creating awareness for Covid-19 for NCDC decided to throw a house party for her husband's birthday with so many people involved, thereby disregarding the social distancing rule.

This act enraged Nigerians and even her fans on social media and they literally came for her head!

The actress has been trending on social media and so many people have requested for her arrest and termination of contract by NCDC.

Funke Akindele later posted a video on Instagram admitting to her wrong actions and apologizing for the act.

But sadly, she has been arrested by the Lagos police and taken into custody.

A picture of her in hadcuffs was shared on social media.

She then made a post on twitter saying that "she's broken and pray she survives"...

While all these is going on, reports are making rounds that her husband JJC Skills is nowhere to be found.

And even all the celebrities that were in attendance have all gone into hiding.

But the Lagos police has ordered that Naira Marley who was one of the celebrities in attendance at the party and Funke's husband JJC Skillz to present themselves to the Lagos police or risk being declared wanted!

And because of people's call to NCDC to terminate Funke Akindele's contract as one of their supposed ambassadors, NCDC has released a statement via their official Twitter account stating that they never engaged brand ambassadors as part of their response to Covid-19...

They went on to say they continue to emphasize that all Nigerians maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Even though they didn't mention Funke Akindele's name, it's obvious they were reacting because of her case.

And reports are making rounds that they have removed Funke Akindele's campaign video from their official website, thereby dissociating themselves from the actress.

This is a really sad situation because Funke Akindele is a beloved actress and role model to so many people and this incident will seriously make a dent on her personality.

I know she was wrong and I believe she has learnt from it. I just hope everything is settled and we all move on from this.

Please, let's all remember to obey the social distancing rule, stay safe and stay at home to help in reducing this deadly Coronavirus and thereby defeating it totally!
