The Federal Government has given palliatives to the people of Lagos State and Ogun State. This is to lessen the burden on the citizen of the States as a result of the Lockdown order by the Federal Government.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq met with Lagos State Governor to deliver the Federal Palliatives. Part of the palliative is a #20000 cash to each beneficiary.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the minister’s team came to Lagos to flag-off the conditional cash transfer and supply of relief food materials for the poor and susceptible including the aged, internally displaced persons, persons living with disabilities, petty merchants, street hawkers, labourers, amongst others.In the same vein Ogun state governor Mr. Dapo Abiodun confirmed that the state has also receive the Federal Palliative. In his word he said "The Honourable Minister has handed over five truckloads of rice and one truckload of vegetable oil, as part of the relief materials that the Federal Government is donating to the state for further distribution to the poor, vulnerable and elderly"The minister said that the process of the FG’s cash transfer to the less privileged in Ogun State is a matter of urgency. This is to ensure that the beneficiaries remain well during the COVID-19 lockdown.
