It would have been a sorrow for a new mother in a private hospital if the Nurse trying to swap her healthy baby to a dead one was not caught on Thursday 12th of march 2020.
It was gathered that the said woman came to the private hospital for the delivery of her first child, the woman was said to have given birth to a baby girl with several complications which led to the death of the baby.
It was reported that when the woman was aware of her baby's death, she had a discussion with the nurse on duty on how her husband may send her packing if he knows that she gave birth to a dead baby.
The nurse out of pity decided to help by swapping her dead baby with another woman’s baby who just delivered a baby boy around that same time in the hospital on the agreement of paying her 2 million naira if she was successfully in doing it for her.
The nurse then asked a hand of another nurse and she yielded to her plan unknowing to her the other nurse was just playing along with the nurse to get her arrested.
The doctor, who was not around at the time was called immediately by the second nurse and briefed him about the plan. The doctor called the police and got them arrested after they have changed the baby.
The two other nurses and the woman are now in police custody for further interrogations and investigation.
