Narrating the story via his Twitter handle @Chydee revealed that it all happened during his NYSC days. In his words: “When I was serving in Kogi, I suspected my ‘girl’ was cheating with her ex and I confronted her. She vehemently denied, I believed and we moved on. Few days later she told me she was breaking up. I had less than N10k in my Acct, so ask me why I started looking for a bus to Ghana.
“I vividly remember when it happened. I was the CLO of my LGA and I was alone in my office when she said she was done. I told her to hold on, I stood up, carried my bag and locked the office. Then I begged her to just give me 24 hours. I will come to Ghana let’s talk about it. “I was crying as I left the office, asking her to just send me her address let me come and talk. I’d never been outside Nigeria o, but at that point, I felt if she saw me she’d have a change of heart. And that was all that mattered. Never mind that N10k couldn’t take me past Seme “She refused, and said she was back with her ex. I was right. But I didn’t care anymore. I was sure distance was why she was breaking up, so I was going to fix it. She switched off her phone. I was asking a friend how to go to Ghana when he reminded me I didn’t have a passport.
“That is the reason I didn’t go to Ghana. If you don’t have a passport, at least have money to bribe officials. I had neither, and I thank God, because I was going to risk it all. “I’ll probably never be that foolish again, but believe me when I say, love will humble you.” Checkout his tweets:
