Former Arsenal and Cameroon midfielder Alexander Song was sent packing by swiss club Sion after player refused to take Pay cut in his wages due to Coronavirus pandemic that is affecting European clubs financially.
According to reports 8 player along with 2 former Arsenal players Alex Song and Johan Djourou, Meanwhile the former gunner midfielder claims he regrets leaving Arsenal to Spanish side Barcelona which saw his career messed up.
The former Cameroon player left Arsenal to join Barcelona in 2012 only made 39 appearances for the Spanish side between 2012 to 2016, Song who was Arsenal fans favorite and they also saw him as the next Viera at the club after breaking into Asene Wenger's team in 2010 where he had a fantastic season which saw them finish 4th on the Log and Manchester United crowned champions.
Alex song was loaned twice during his time with the Spanish giant to English club West ham because of lack of games at the club, he also had the chance to return to Arsenal but the gunners chiefs never wanted him back at the club after he forced himself out of the club where he issued a transfer request to the London Club and also stated he was not going to play for them again ,which made Arsenal letting him leave because he unhappy.
In 2011 Alex song was key member of Arsene Wenger's Squad ,he made a Superb start of the season which he was the main rock infront of the gunners back four ,the following season saw the departure of club captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona which finally paved way for the Cameroon International to cement his place in the squad and was also used as the main creator of goals in the midfield by Arsene alongside Ramsey and Flamini .
Song was signed by Barcelona in August 2012 for just £15million due to his contract expiring at the end of the season and also player wanting to leave. After a disappointing spell with the Spanish club, the player moved to Russia club Rubin karzan in 2016 before heading to Swiss club Sion in 2018.
