Nigerian international, Mikel Obi has opened up on his decision to quit Trabzonspor in the Turkish League due to fear of Coronavirus pandemic.
It was earlier reported that the former Nigerian captain and ex-Chelsea midfielder quit the club on mutual consent to be with his family amid the trying times. Mikel expressed his fear as the league opted to continue activities even in the time of the global Coronavirus pandemic.
In a recent social media post, the father of two expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support and as well thanked the technical crew and medical team at the club.
He as well wished the team best of luck and urged them to go ahead in winning the Turkish League this season while also admitting that quitting the club was the hardest decision he had to make, but maintained that taking care of his family is top priority.
