Anxiety in PDP Camp as Supreme Court Led by CJN Tanko Sets to Review Bayelsa State Judgement Today

The supreme court of Nigeria is set to review the Bayelsa State Judgement today as requested by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The supreme court panel headed by Justice Mary Odili, on February 13 nullified the victory of APC governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, David Lyon and his deputy, Deyi, because Deyi submitted forged certificates to INEC. The apex court decision came barely 24 hours to Lyon's inauguration. The court then declared the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, as the winner of the election held last year November.

APC filed for a review of the judgement by the supreme court, and the court is ready to review the judgement today with a new panel headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko.

However, there is currently fear and anxiety among PDP members and supporters of the new governor. This is because they are uncertain about the outcome of today's review by the supreme court.
